Q: Is there a source that identifies public benefits for which Medicaid populations are typically eligible at the state level?
A: This website lists benefits programs by state, but keep in mind that states’ eligibility requirements vary: http://www.benefits.gov/benefits/browse-by-state.
Most states, and many cities, have websites that help individuals identify the programs for which they may be eligible based on their income, family size, need, etc. (e.g., https://www.compass.state.pa.us/compass.web/cmhom.aspx for PA, https://coloradopeak.secure.force.com/ for CO, https://a069-access.nyc.gov/ACCESSNYC/application.do for NYC).
Public assistance is available for a range of needs, including child care, food and nutrition, energy, and housing, to name only a few.
